Cut Creek Trail (Bullards Beach State Park)

Length: 1.25 miles (one way)

Difficulty: Easy

Surface: Sand

Access:

From Coos Bay, drive south on US 101 for about 23 miles to Bullards Beach State Park.  Turn right (west) at park entrance.  Continue on main road out to Bullards Beach Horse Camping area sign and turn right (north) into camping area where trailhead is located.

Setting and Attractions:

Providing beach access, this trail takes you to the mouth of Cut Creek, a dry creek bed.  Once on the beach it’s possible to walk for several miles along the coast.  Bullards Beach State Park has a wide diversity of camping opportunities for horses, hikers/bikers, RVs, and also provides yurts.

Trail Description:

The trail is marked with wooden posts marked with horseshoes.  After walking about thirty feet there is a fork to the left that goes to the beach.  If you stay to the right you will continue towards Cut Creek. The trail winds through coastal brush with large pockets of gorse, providing pretty yellow flowers while in bloom.  However, the City of Bandon is trying to eradicate this troublesome plant that is taking over space for native vegetation.  This is a popular trail for equestrians.
