Access:  

From Coos Bay, drive on US 101 to William Tugman State Park, located 1 mile north of Lakeside on the right (east) side.  From any of the day use parking areas walk south toward the campground. Near the park’s RV dump station take a dirt/gravel path east to the footbridge that crosses Eel Creek.  The trail starts on the other side of the bridge.

Setting and Attractions:  

The trail, which will eventually loop around the lake, leads around a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by lush forest.  The area is great for bird enthusiasts as Osprey and heron nest here.

Trail Description: 

The trail follows the shoreline of the lake, offering serene views of the lake through native vegetation and at overlooks.  There are fishing and picnicking opportunities at various sites along the trail. A local favorite, this trail is popular with hikers and bikers alike.  Pets must be kept on a 6’ or shorter leash within the state park.
